Bronchoscopy - Percutaneous Tracheostomy Course in Acute Care
The Bronchoscopy – Percutaneous Tracheostomy in Acute Intensive Care Course (BroTrac course) is a multidisciplinary one-day hands-on training course.
The first part of the course will cover the basic anatomy of airway, bronchial tree, how to handle a bronchoscope and will explain how to perform bronchoscopy. This module includes enough time for hands-on training.
The second part will be dedicated for percutaneous tracheostomy, indication, methods and how to perform percutaneous tracheostomy. The course will touch the usage of ultrasound for identification of airway structures and front of neck access under ultrasound guidance. In this module will be also plenty of time for hands-on training.
Upon completion of this course, you should be able to:
- Bronchoscopy in acute setting
- Anatomy of bronchial tree
- How to perform bronchoscopy
- Percutaneous tracheostomy indication and methods
- How to perform percutaneous tracheostomy
- Use of ultrasound in difficult airway situation
- Front of neck access
- Weaning and decannulation of tracheostomy

10:30 - 11:00 Can’t intubate, can’t ventilate on ICU (Front of Neck Access)
