Ill Medical Patients' Acute Care & Treatment
Why this course?
IMPACT is intended to improve patient safety by enhancing the skills of doctors managing acute medical admissions. All major acute presentations mapping to the UK core medical curriculum are incorporated into this learning.
How does IMPACT work?
IMPACT consists of three parts:
1. E-Learning Package called SIMPACT – this provides on-line reading, MCQs and simulation which should be completed prior to attending the course. Your Centre Administrator will monitor your progress. Upon completion of the on-line reading and MCQs you can then access the simulation known as the abcdeSIM game. This provides a tutorial, a “dummy” exercise scenario and 5 scenarios of different medical presentations. You have 15 minutes to “treat” each patient. This E-Learning Package will be available for you to use for 1 year after you register so that you can remind yourself of the principles of the IMPACT course long after you have completed it.
